I have heard the story of my birth countless times. 18 years ago, at around 2 o’clock in the morning, my father was enjoying the game of ‘gran turismo’ on the first Playstation. All of a sudden, my father had to switch from speeding in game into speeding in real life. My mother felt that it was almost time to give birth. Hence, they rushed to the hospital. After a few hours there, on June 1st 2005, at around 10 o’clock, I was born. My parents have told that story countless times I was born into a family with a very loving and very caring parents. Each parent would show their love and care in different ways. My mother would show her love by making sure her children are well taken care of in a practical sense. This means she makes sure all our necessities such as food, clothes, etc. are prepared well. She cares so much to the point where she worries about little things that her children can take care for themselves. For example, sometimes she still thinks about what I would wear the next day even though that is something I can come up with on the spot on said day. My father would show his love through valuable character lessons and getting into the things that his children enjoy. For example, my father would always talk about perseverance and he would watch movies with his children. I believe that this a great parent-children dynamic for me as their child. I am very grateful for them, and I wish to be the best child I can be to them.
Only a year after I was born, on September 30th 2006, my first sister was born. With such a small age gap, we practically grew up together. She became the first person of my age that I meet. Because of this, from we became each other’s companion and from her I learned to socialize and how to act with people my age. Six years after I was born, on June 23th 2011, my second sister was born. This time, the age gap is much bigger than before. With this difference in age, I learned more about taking care of other because I was already more capable of doing so at 6 years old. For my sisters I am grateful as well, and I wish to be the best brother I can be to them.

When I reached high school, it was time for me to think about what major I want to take in university. While doing so, I remembered the stories my parents would tell of me as a child. They would say how I always enjoyed looking at buildings. They also told me that I always play with toys similar to legos to create buildings. They said that I was able to copy my father’s office in playgroup with building blocks. Because of these stories, I started looking into architecture. When doing so, I enjoyed looking at all the buildings I can find in the internet. I tried drawing buildings with tutorials from the internet and I enjoyed that too. When I look for other majors to take, none of them felt as suitable for me as architecture. Hence, I chose architecture as my major. Looking at all the creative and abstract buildings designed by famous architects in the world, I wish to be able to create one of my own. I also enjoy it when a building is very comfortable for its users and surrounding, which is what I aspire for my design to be. In my studies, I hope to learn to able to design the right balance between artistic design, comfort, and sustainability.
About a year ago, on September 1st 2022, my father passed away. It was sudden and devastating for my family. As a father, he taught me a lot of valuable lessons about being a good person. The lesson that would stick with me the most is the lesson of not giving up and giving the best that you can in whatever you do. The lesson of not giving up on what you do stuck with me because I completely agree with it and I believe that it is important for anyone doing anything. The lesson of giving the best I can stuck with me because I believe that is where I lack. Often, whenever I want to do something, it is always delayed or even stopped by my laziness. For example, I would delay doing homework because I would rather just relax in bed. I would even delay something I enjoy such as basketball and just relax and do nothing. However, since my father passed away, his lessons stuck with me more and it motivates me to be able to do what he taught me. Being only a high school student when my father passed away, I don’t think I’ve shown him fully what I can do. My father did not get to see me grow up and do something with my life. This is why I want to be the best me that I can be, for myself and to not fail my father.
I want to grow into my full potential. I want to be someone who is successful for myself and also bring a positive influence to my surrounding. I hope that I will be able to give I best to become what I aspire to be
