At first, when I was about to choose this major, is because I’m interested in designs and art. And I think it’s interesting to not just learn about design graphic and art illustration, but also a bigger thing such as building, since from there I can also learn science, so that’s why I began to think to take architecture major.
After 3 years have passed and now I’m in the 7th semester, things have made their ways not as I predicted. This was really difficult subject, because it need strong mental and spirit to can get through by semesters. I realized that my hand-drawings are really worse than the others, and my ideas are not more creative than the others. But the thing is, I’m now become more excited and curious about architecture. I really want to do more architecture competition and workshop, for example, to test my capability, and many other things about architecture. I really enjoy thinking of the concepts when I was about to start doing the designs, I also enjoy the architecture drawings or graphics in digital such as rendering, etc.
Why I want to do the internship in RAW Architecture is because I often see the principal who’s Mr. Realrich, is the one who want to share his knowledge, and also one of RAW’s programs, OMAH Library, that regularly make a public event every Saturday that let whoever from architect industry meet in one place and discuss any architecture issues. It means that RAW is the one who want to share their knowledge to architecture students.
So I hope when I do the internship there, I can get more about architecture and get good coaching.
Now after I’m starting the internship here, my hope is that I can get more challenges to dig more about my capability in architecture, especially in concept and structures. Sometimes I got many ideas for my design, but at the end I got limit when I’m too confused to think about the structure. So here’s I want to learn about the details and structure, because it was my weakness point. Then I also want the good relationship between me and internship friends, because from them I also can learn anything about architecture maybe from their experiences. I want to learn about how to do the presentation of my architecture project design in front of others and the others can give me critics.
