Dody Tansil – Universitas Gajah Mada

My name is Dody Tansil, currently undergo Bachelor Degree in Architecture on my 5th semester in Universitas Gadjah Mada at Yogyakarta. Architecture has been a passion since high school, which has been introduced to me by my teacher. Slowly but sure, the bond with architecture was created. Curiosity and eager to learn architecture brought me to where I am. Analyzing and envisioning building was one of several imagination to sharpen my vision in architecture. I joined some organization events. This experience has taught me how to work effectively and smartly in team work in various circumstances. By joining TKI-MAI, this event has shown me how architecture can impact people’s life and environment even with a small design. The design itself has proven power of architecture in daily life.

The world between architecture as a real profession and architecture in college, I heard those are two different things. A real Architect indeed said to me before that if you want to be an architect, pursue it by doing intership for minimum 4 months. Therefore, I take this internship as a chance and stepping stone to step forward, as I need to expand skills, abilities, and networking. I am inspired by Realrich Sjarief after reading his resume, as Principal Architect of RAW Architect, for the path of architecture which he has chosen. Working and striving to know and widen the perspective of every aspect in architecture at outside of our motherland country, Indonesia. I have been imagining myself to choose the path same with Realrich Sjarief, where I can also improve my architectural skill in other country too. Besides become an intern in RAW Architect, I envision myself that I hopefully working on international consultant for the next 5 years.

The reason why I choose RAW Architect it is because RAW Architect’s work is truly the reflection of harmony between human’s life, environment, and design. One of several design I admired is The Guild which is designed by Realrich Sjarief. The art of solid-void in mass form creates this unity of material, programmatic, along with design ─yet natural. To learn from one of the well-known architecture consultant in Indonesia, would be the best place to develop for interns. I would love to learn and improve for this five months opportunity to have internship at RAW Architect. This would give me a chance to polish my knowledge, as I could learn how to make a welldesigned architecture, be more creative, be more like an architect, meet new ideas, environment, and people. I am looking forward to work and learn from RAW Architect’s workmanship.

Due to this reason, I indeed would like to apply internship in RAW Architect.
