Kemarin saya ke daerah Jakarta pusat, secara tidak sengaja saya ke pameran, dan saya baru tahu bahwa pameran ini diinisiasi oleh anak-anak muda, salah satunya Agustinus Satya, murid saya. Melihat apa yang dikerjakan oleh Satya dan teman-temannya saya terkesima dan takjub karena hasil karyanya memiliki cerita yang sangat personal, dan teknik pengolahan yang sulit. Hal-hal tersebut tidak saya temukan di market place.
Mereka berdelapan termasuk gurunya, mas Haryo Soenggono berpameran sekaligus menjual karyanya. Bauhaus juga dimulai dari hal yang sangat sederhana, membuat prototype, dan kemudian mempopulerkan prototype tersebut, serta menjual prototype tersbeut didalam sebuah platform German Work Federation (Deutscher Werkbund), yang beranggotakan 12 seniman, di antaranya Peter Behrens, Theodor Fischer, Josef Olbrich, Bruno Paul dan Richard Riemerschmid dan 12 perusahaan, salah satu contoh integrasi industri yang telah menunjukkan pendekatan inovatif yang inovatif.
Saya jadi bertanya-tanya, akan kemana kreativitas anak-anak ini bisa mengalir?, Mempertanyakan tentang bagaimana ya ekosistem keramik yang yang ada di Indonesia?
Mereka dilatih didalam sebuah bengkel yang dimiliki gurunya. Mas Haryo Soenggono sudah mencetak anak-anak yang luar biasa dan mengajarkan langkah-langkah untuk bisa membuat kerajinan tembikar yang membutuhkan konsistensi tinggi dan dibutuhkan suhu yang sangat panas, mendekati 1000 derajat celcius untuk bisa membakar dan mencetak bahan dari liquid atau bahan yang cair dan kenyal menjadi solit.
Sebuah proses transpormasi yang biasanya terjadi secara alami, begitu lama. Seperti marmer di Indonesia yang diperkirakan berumur sekitar 30–60 juta tahun. Keramik dipapatkan kedalam proses yang begitu singkat, dan begitulah kerajinan, sangat lama kita mempersiapkan diri, segitu cepatnya kita harus mengeksekusi diri.
Dari sini kita belajar tentang kehidupan didalam pekerjaan yang nyata, sebenarnya adalah pancaran dari kerja-kerja, pelatihan, dan persipakan yang kita lakukan diluar jam kerja.

LeKat Collection
They say two heads are better than one, in essence, would nine be much better?
The “LeKat” collection bring forth eccentric notions of form and function. “PuNya LekaT” meaning “to become closer to PuNya,” expresses the collaboration and union of our diverse piece, resulting in a line of authentuc and eccentric creations.
This collaboration is the result of the continuous growth of PuNya Keramik. Pieces of ceramic that have lost their functional purpose are brought together, not to hide imperfections, but rather to symbolize progress.

Alles ist Gutcomes from the German language that translate into “All is good”. The products bring up the core philosophy of simplicity in its products, hoping to give a unique and personal experience for future owners. Currently, Alles ist Gut studio creates a range of items inspired by everyday life, icliding eating utensils, house decorations such as lamps and vases, all crafted with a focus on local craftsmanship, quality, and a modern design concept.
Alles is Gut employs both hand-building technique and wheel throwing in the creation of their ceramics, followed by firing with a traditional gas kiln. Beyond the technical processes, Jesslyn takes pleasure in every aspects-from clay drying to engaging with customers-which has led to an ongoing learning experienced for her.

Jesslyn’s fascination with ceramics began through her collection of distinctive ceramic mugs bought during her travels to various regions and countries, saving as cherished mementos. The individuality embodied by each mugs ignited a curiosity whitin her, inspiring a profound appreciation for the creative process of ceramic artist who possess the ability to envision pieces that provide personal experiences to their owners and enthusiasts of ceramics.
In 2018, Jesslyn decided to embark on a pottery journey under the guidance of Haryo Soenggono-a renowned ceramic artist from the Puspa Lima ceramic studio. 3 years later, her passion for ceramics blossomed, culminating in the creation of her own ceramic line, Alles ist Gut.

Agustinus Satya
Agustinus Satya’s early exposure to clay began during his childhood when his mother pursued pottery as a hobby at home. In early 2021, Satya reignited his passion for working with clay and dedicated his free time as ceramic artist Haryo Soenggono. This immersion in the world of ceramic further his fueled his growing interest in the craft.
In Satya’s creative journey, he strongly believes that the process holds utmost importance. He Recognizes that the true reward of creation often arise unexpectedly through good process. It is through this belief that Asat Pottery’s ceramic products are born, reflecting a continuous growth. Satya primarily employs the hand-building technique in this creations.

“Ceramic is a skill to add value and functionality of clay throught shaping and heating/burning processes”
With an engineering background, Haryo Soenggono started his career as a ceramic artist in the year 1998 at Liem Kang Sien’s studio. 2,5 years into his career, Haryo made the decision to open his own ceramic studio called Studio Bengkel Keramik Puspa Lima. Leveraging his engineering knowledge, Haryo Soenggono also developed various pottery tools, including the gas klin that is currently utilized. With over 20 years of experience, his studio has become a hub where numerous ceramic enthusiast learn the art of pottery.

Inspired by her enjoyment of watching pottery videos on YouTub. Margaretha Oei, also know as areth, was driven to delve into the world of clay processing and transform it into ceramic artworks. In 2018, Areth made the decision to embark on her pottery journenyat Studio Bengkel Keramik Puspa Lima, where she had the opportunity to learn under the guidance of Haryo Soenggono, the owner of the studio.
The intricate and meticulous nature of the pottery process, requiring attention to detail at every step, deeply fascinates Areth. Through her exploration and expression of ideas, she discovers the profound meaning and beauty in embracing the realities or the world. It is from her profound love for clay and pottery that Reth Ceramics was founded in 2019.

The name Sedari Rupa is derived from the combination of “sejak dari” (since) and “seni rupa” (visual arts). It signifies that there are no limitations as to when and for whom to begin any form of art. Aidin Fikri’s goal in introducing Sedari Rupa is to enhance people’s appreciation for the craft of handmade ceramics. Sedari Rupa offers a collection of tableware, crafted using hand-building techniques such as pinching and slabbing. Each piece is thoughtfully coated with intriguing glazes, adding an element of visual interest.

Aidin’s Fikri’s fascination with pottery began in 2014 when he started collecting various pieces from established handmade ceramic brands. This sparked his interest in learning and creation his own ceramics, leading him to embark on his pottery journey in 2020. With the establishment of his brand, Sedari Rupa, Fikri aims to introduce his unique artworks that have yet to gain recognition in Indonesia.

At Svaja Studio, Sharika presents a collective of modern and quirky ceramics, with her love for fairytales shining through her art. Sharika expresses gratitude for the mentors she has encountered along her journey, as they have provided inspiration and guidance. She invites everyone to join her in imagining will be increasingly appreciated, as she believes that every imperfection holds its own unique narrative.

UnE Keramik primarly employs hand-build technique such as plassing, pinching, coiling, and molding. The pieces are carefully shared and preferes using a banding wheel to achieve a smooth finish. Each pece is the followed by the glazing process that is both safe and explanatory, allowing for creative experimentation. The combination of techniques and materials results in pieces that are truly U-Eek.

Uli Padmanegara & Endah Affif
UU and Endah, who are now over 55 years old, discovered pottery because of their individual journey, it began with Endah’s search for a terapeutic to fresh outlet to exprss her creativity. Pottery became the answer to both of their needs, leading them down a path of exploration and self-discovery.
Arridst the chalenges of the pandemic, their search led them to discover Bengkel Keramik Puspa Lima, where they began the pottery journey under the guidance of Haryo Soenggono in November 2020. For Endah, this therapeutic activity brings a sence of joy and fullfilment, even though she can only induge in durung her limited tree time at the end of a busy week. For Uli, pottery has become a form of personal therapy, bringing a caiming effect to her emotions. Intally, they embaried on this pottery adventure without any expectations of their work garnering interest from others. Therefore, they are everjoyed to see that UnE Keramik has been embraced and appreciated bt many friends. Inspired by this, they astablished UnE Keramik with the hope of inspiring others to pursue their passions at any age.
