At our studio, we strive to create projects that are responsive to movement and push the boundaries of design. Our innovative #rawcollectivecave concept, inspired by kampoong cross programming arrangement, combines diverse design elements, such as integrating recycling materials and cross-programming inside one big box.

Nizamia Andalusia is a school located in East Jakarta.
This school caters to the Middle High School level of education, where ‘high’ signifies a higher level of maturity compared to elementary school students. As children begin to act independently, it becomes crucial to filter external influences through the lens of the school’s vision and mission. Nizamia is committed to fostering a maturity that embraces social and spiritual impulses, and we are dedicated to translating this ethos into the building’s design. Thus, the Nizamia school’s space program is meticulously designed to facilitate the learning, activity, and socialization processes for children.

The primary challenge of this project is time constraints, which we have overcome through innovative solutions. We have utilized existing buildings, repurposing their modules for the classrooms, and adding new structures where necessary. The two main buildings of this school are connected by existing bridges on floors 2 and 5, which we have ingeniously repurposed to support horizontal circulation. Vertically, the 1st and 2nd floors of the building feature integrated gardens, classrooms, and communal spaces. The 3rd floor is a spacious prayer room with a capacity of 700 people, the 4th floor functions as an auditorium, and the 5th floor is an open sports hall.

Nizamia is one of the projects that utilizes existing structures and translates limitations in the design process into an architectural language that can support people’s lives.
