From the very beginning of our practice, experimenting with materials has been a part of our process. This ethos is deeply rooted in our early days at the Garage Studio. Our front facade was a product of experimentation with plywood wrapped in teak wood and punctuated with circular perforations. This facade served as both cover and door, adaptable to our needs.
The garage’s front space was a canvas of creativity, with black-painted walls adorned with chalk and marker scribbles alongside sketches portraying an aerial city view. Einstein’s words, “If at first, the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it,” were engraved on the floor, reminding us to be brave enough to take a step and be willing to innovate.
Despite its modest dimensions, the front terrace was versatile, transforming from a gathering space to a reception or seating area as required. More than just a workplace, this Garage Studio had also become a home for those inside, fostering leisure alongside focused work and learning.
