On RAW Architecture design, there is a foyer area and a library room with a mezzanine. The foyer features a high ceiling and skylights arranged in a pyramid-like staircase configuration. It’s compact and efficient.
In contrast, the library room with the mezzanine has a low ceiling with a thin concrete structure suspended from a concrete slab above. On the mezzanine floor, semi-circular voids are covered by perforated metal plates and glass, serving as spatial dividers and providing natural light and ventilation for both the ground floor and the mezzanine. The atmosphere of this low-ceilinged room deliberately recalls the ambiance of the humble space.
Structural changes were made to separate different zones, including incorporating a glass frame in the arch structure. At times, the space also functioned as a display area for models before eventually being sterilized into a dedicated library area. This transformation occurred rapidly, involving the exploration of spatial programs and extensive material explorations that continue to this day, a space of flexibility.
