This PIK house is located on a compact plot of land in a residential area in Tangerang. This plot of land is facing southeast with measuring 10 x 20 meters. From the front, its exterior of this house is a combination of natural forms featuring wooden frames with flowing grass-like shapes arranged as if spreading from one side to the other.
The wavy frame in facade can be manually opened and closed using a simple hinge system that crafted by local craftsmen. Combination of brick and wood language reinforced with metal is also seen with the placement of brick arrangements. Those pattern become openings that aim brise soleil while maintaining natural ventilation.
This system used to reduce thermal heat while ensuring airflow into the living spaces. This strategy will also growing with the landscape that integrated between the exterior and interior connection. The placement of trees in front of the house mean to make a natural connection and act as a sun shading.
The lowest level or the ground floor is dedicated to the needs of a family gathering space, in the form of a living room and dining room. There is also a maids quarter area located on one side of this floor. The first floor features more private spaces including the master bedroom and two children’s room that connected with the same bathroom.
The second floor functions as a prayer room, and office room, which is used to interact with the outside world. The highest floor of this house is the rooftop area which is constructed with steel plates, serves as both a gathering space and an additional layer of insulation to maintain thermal comfort for the lower level. This strategy to ensures the house comfortable.
Currently, this house is still under construction. It continues progressing every day and gradually taking shape as it moves closer to completion.
