Our work, Lumintu House, is featured in Archdaily. It’s huge effort by clients and the team involved in these continous years, refining the crafts, tons of itterations, hard work by everybody.
This project has a unique way to test methods to reduce the temperature by shading and air ventilation with modification to cool fresh air. Our design team also carries out the thermal simulation effort by providing a responsive form, increasing wind speed, and reducing temperature. The fins outside are extended as a 3.5 m canopy on the ground floor, providing a shaded space similar to sitting under a tree. This design also protects the surrounding plants from excessive sunlight and forms a soft, seamless transition. In the middle of the house, we design active fan and wind tunnel to lower humidity provide air stacking effect inside the house. Lumintu House also has a rooftop garden to add insulation and provide biodiversity on site.
To create a bioclimatic architecture is not easy, involving the team, acceptance from the client, and testing again in post-construction by our team, so we can reflect on being better for the next journey.
