We are excited to share the progress of Noah Kindergarten. The kindergarten project is located in Cipinang, East Jakarta. The project stands like an ark, welcoming its future students such that of a cave and canyon, enveloping them with the best possible environment. We do things for our children wholeheartedly, creating an ecosystem for them through the beautiful premises in which our architecture touch:
1. Our approach responds thoughtfully to Indonesia’s tropical climate through a series of strategies to achieve a Bioclimatic architecture. Slanted terraces and façades respond to tropical challenges, shading the harsh west sun and cooling corridors between classrooms and the exterior—creating a bioclimatic design that minimizes reliance on air conditioning. The south-facing roof channels indirect light into the auditorium, filling in a calm and even glow.
2. The design evokes a non-judgmental environment defined by soft, flowing curves that merge naturally into the site. Dots become lines, and lines transform into volumes, reflecting a continuous spatial evolution that invites curiosity and exploration.
3. The details of each edge are crafted to ensure durability while expressing the story of Indonesian craftsmanship. Inspired by Wastra, the woven narrative of the archipelago, the design captures a journey from the mountains to the rivers, and to the islands beyond. No corner is the same and each one holds its own story. The beauty presents itself in the details, and should be experienced at the scale of both children and nature, creating a living symbiosis between craft, space, and experience.
RAW and Noah School’s values resides in these subtle and intricate gestures rather than the big grand moves. Through this approach, the project finds its soul, ensuring the best way to do this special project.
