Ruth Liana Fransisca – Universitas Kristen Petra

Hello my name is Ruth Liana Fransisca, I’m from Surabaya. Now, I am in the third year majoring architecture at Petra Christian University Surabaya. First of all, I would like to tell you why I chose architecture major. I chose this major cause I wanted to follow my childhood dream. When I was a child, I saw so many people live in the street. They didn’t have a house even a shelter to live. I felt so sad that day because I couldn’t do anything for them. At that time I told myself that someday I want to build a healthy house for those in need.
As time goes by, I learn that architect’s job isn’t only designing a building, but moreover to take responsibility of its effect to social life and environment (for the users).

In the way to archive that dream someday, I need to prepare and learn so many things about architecture, environment, and people. So that’s why I apply this internship in RAW architecture. I know this architecture firm from a seminar in my campus. In that seminar, Mr. Realrich told so many things about building, user, and structure. At that time I’m very excited, especially when Mr. Realrich explained a house that really made for the users. I take this internship opportunity to learn more about architecture, to learn
how design a building with a knowledge about craftsmanship, environment,and people. I hope when I start this internship I can get new experiences, to feel and know the real studio design and designing a different type of building. After that I hope that I can give my knowledge and experiences back in designing or working after I graduate from this major. And not only that, I hope that I can use this internship experiences to archive my dream.

In this internship I will try do the best I can and I will keep learning. I will open my mind to learn about so many things. I will not give up in every project and I will keep my spirit till the end of this internship as the motto in my live that I believe and hold till now “never give up cause nothing is impossible with God.” Thanks for this opportunity RAW architecture!
