My name is Dimas Hedito Rahardian and currently studied architecture at Universitas Gadjah Mada. Have a chance to be a part of RAW Architecture is a privilege for me. There is so many things I’ve learned since day one. As an architecture student that will be have an internship, things that I want to really know is how an architecture firm works. How they can have a relationship with client, how the architect make a design etc. Beside that I also want to learn about architecture software. From CAD to 3d rendering.
I think for a student that will be had an internship, RAW is the best choice (if I compared with my campus mate). Why? Because in here, we’re always work on something. Some of firm usually treat an internship student as “common people”, so they’re feel like neglected. But in here, I’m not. It’s so challenging in here. RAW treat me like one of the staff that working in here, not so, but it feels. Sometimes I give an optional design for some project, like make a plan, façade, sequence from a resort, etc. Although there are some unused design, but I think it’s time for me to learn about something. Learn from the real Architect.
RAW have an office atmosphere that I wonder. The people inside is look like relax and enjoy their work. Doesn’t matter if there’s a dateline or not, they’re always like, laugh together, make a cheesy jokes, hear a good song and something like that. Honestly , I don’t know what’s on their head about work, but what I see is they’re look always happy. Even in front of the computer, they also make a joke. Maybe RAW choose the best people, so something that seem hard can be done in easy way. We’re also had a refreshing mind like playing badminton and watching movies. I think it’s good, for make us “real” survive in architecture.
Another thing that I like to be here is the boss, Mr. Realrich Sjarief. But actually, we’re very rarely to have a time to talk. Yea because he’s so busy in weekday. It’s sad. The only time that we’re always spent together is design consultation about one of RAW project. Nah, there is the time that I must be focused on. Every word from mr Rich when we’re talking about design is important. How he solved a problem, how to make a decision how this building will be have a look like, and etc. But wait, we’re ever spent together on sketching! So, there is a project about renovating Gelora Bung Karno stadium, and then we’re made a sketch one of that part. Mr Rich told me about how to make a good proportion, how to framing, make a tree, and so many other things, it’s happy.
