The Wangkar Bioclimatic Home, currently under construction, is designed to serve as a residence for a large family. It consists of several houses for the parents, their grown-up childrens and their future family. The development process has spanned nearly eight years from conceptualization to its current state. Many have remarked that the project has taken too long. However, for us, attitude is as essential as design methodology.
Over these nearly eight years of construction, we’ve learned that architecture is not merely about completing a building. This project proves that success isn’t always measured by how quickly it is finished but by how the process builds solid and sustainable emotional connections with the people involved and various stakeholders.
Our journey with Wangkar Bioclimatic Home has been akin to a marathon, where we’ve learned not just as planners but also as mediators managing various dynamics and challenges. We’ve bridged different parties, overcome egos, and materialism, and learned that everything doesn’t come cheap—it’s a costly process.
From implementing simple rules like no smoking in the project area to discussing detailed architectural elements such as piping, finishing quality, and even ensuring protection against mice by sealing all gaps or safeguarding against water damage, every detail has been meticulously considered.
Every difficulty offers an opportunity to refine and produce high-quality results. For us, this project isn’t just a structure but the outcome of hard work, dedication from a solid team, and a sincere vision. With continued effort, we anticipate reaching the finish line soon, bringing along sweet memories and beautiful dreams for a better future.
