Hi everyone, my name is Felisha, and I am an Interior Design student from Binus University. From the beginning, RAW was one of my top choices for an internship because of its unique approach to design, one that places people and their environment at the center of every project. The first time I visited one of RAW Architecture’s works, Guha The Guild, I felt an instant connection. The project not only impressed me, it resonated deeply with the values I personally admire. Instead of hiding imperfections, the design reveals them, treating rawness as a quality rather than a flaw. The house felt warm and inviting despite its raw materiality. What attracted me most was how RAW prioritizes emotional experiences, social well-being, and harmony with nature. It embodies the true intention of design: not merely creating visually pleasing spaces, but shaping environments that empathize with, embrace, and heal their users. This perspective of designing beyond aesthetics strongly aligns with what I hope to learn and practice in my future career.
Although I did not always get the opportunities I initially expected from a purely interior design perspective, I am incredibly grateful for my experience here. RAW has broadened my perspective far beyond the boundaries of interior design. I learned to think more deeply about the purpose behind every design decision, not just how something looks, but why it is created and what impact it has on people.
Throughout this internship, I learned the importance of meticulous attention to detail and how every aspect of a project must be thoughtfully considered from beginning to end. My critical thinking skills have grown significantly, alongside my design abilities, visual communication skills, and technical competencies. More importantly, I learned how meaningful design can emerge from curiosity, reflection, and a genuine understanding of people.
Beyond the professional growth, I found a welcoming environment and formed friendships that I will truly cherish. The culture at RAW is genuinely one of a kind. The people here are warm, supportive, and deeply invested in each other’s curiosity, learning, and personal growth. It is a place where questions are encouraged, ideas are shared openly, and everyone is given the opportunity to develop.
Lastly, I would like to thank every single person at RAW, both the designers and fellow interns who guided me patiently throughout this journey. Thank you for your kindness, support, and for all the laughter and memories we shared along the way. I am truly grateful to have been part of such a welcoming, inspiring, and caring environment, and I will carry these experiences with me wherever I go. Thank you!
