Tepatnya seratus hari aku berkutat dengan buku – buku, seratus ribu menit dihabiskan dengan menatap kertas yang nampak tak terselesaikan. Teringat oleh kuliah gubahan bentuk yang pernah diadakan, pada pagi yang sendu, dan embun yang baru menetes. Waktu itu waktu menunjukkan pukul 07.00, seorang dosen berkata untuk selalu ingat kalimat ini,”selalu kalian harus ingat ini, semua mengenai arsitektur, di dalam setiap bentuk, … ada makna.” Itulah pak Riyadi, pengajar kebanggaanku.

This work was represented twice, first when It was for Final project studio in January 2005 and second when I presented this scheme to Lord Norman Foster in Foster and Partners Graduation show December 2007.

Tisna Sanjaya is a prominent Indonesian contemporary artist, who works primarily to portray the contemporary drama of Indonesia. Following the controversial destruction on 2005 of his master piece ‘Special Prayer for the Dead’ criticized and insulted government. Special Prayer for the Dead’ is a ship of composition of prayers that Tisna brings into being as tragedies took place in the world. The tragedy of Sarajevo, the September 11 tragedy, the war in Iraq, the bomb in Bali, the civil wars in Timor and Aceh.

Located at Cigondewah, Bandung, Indonesia, This Project is an art centre belongs to Tisna Sanjaya. The main issue is how to transform Tisna Sanjaya spirit to the space which is a building in reality. In order to solve this issue, Metaphor was used to channel ‘ Special Prayer for the Dead’ to Architecture. It is defined by a diagonal wall to establish the journey in the museum, the first corner shows nadir and the other corner shows zenith of the journey.

Konsep ruang dan bentuk bangunan Galeri Seni Tisna Sanjaya ini dirancang dengan pendekatan terhadap perjalanan seni Tisna Sanjaya dimulai dari awal perjalanan dari seniman grafis, etsa, dan pelukis hingga ia menemukan suatu titik yang klimaks yaitu seni instalasi, Special prayer for the death. Pada akhir prosesnya Ruang tersebut mengajak manusia untuk berkontemplasi, merenung untuk membuat suatu evaluasi terhadap dirinya. Pemikiran ini menghasilkan ruangan – ruangan mengalir yang memiliki tema – tema grafis, etsa, lukisan dan instalasi.
